One With Us - Help Duk is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization based in Chicago, Illinois. It was founded by Lost Boys of Sudan and their friends to support the lives of the people in Southern Sudan, especially Duk Padiet in Jongule.

The southern Sudan has been ravaged by a twenty-one year civil war that displaced the people of Duk from their land. The people in Southern Sudan lost everything they had during that war: they lost their homes, their livestock, and were forced to live in refugee camps in neighboring countries. In 2005, a peace treaty was signed between the Government
of Sudan in the North and the SPLA/SPLM of the
South. After this, the refugees were expected to return to their homes. But it was not easy for them to go back because there is nothing there for them to return to. There is no infrastructure in place.

One With Us was formed to support the peoples of Southern Sudan in the return home and the resettlement of orphans, widows and the disabled of the civil war. We believe in humanity, that as humans we can care for one another and provide for others, no matter what one believes, what one looks like or where one comes from. We believe in the kindness of the human heart reaching out to others who have so little and their generosity of spirit to help others in need.

Massacre in Dukpadiet - August 2, 2009
The massacre was one of the worst single outbreaks of violence in South Sudan since the end of the civil war four years ago. Officials say at least 185 people died, mainly women and children. These kind of attacks are becoming increasingly common in the troubled south, a region still recovering from decades of war with the north.
